THE PINK BALL TOURNAMENT

At our meeting on March15, enthusiasm was very high for our first tournament of the season - The Pink Ball. For those of you who could not attend the meeting here is a recap of the information. There are a couple of changes from previous years to make the day less stressful and more fun while still keeping a reasonable pace of play. All players will come back to the club for snacks, awards and photos.

1. Every foursome will have three pink balls. Now you do not have to freak out every time it is your turn to play the pink ball.

2. We are planning on having both 18 hole and 9 hole flights. So all you beginners, who do not want to play 18 holes, or moms whose kids are playing soccer at 9 am can still join us for a tee time around noon. The tee time for 18 holes is 10:00am shotgun.

3. Because we are playing at the end of April, we anticipate being able to take the carts on the course, which will speed up play and make playing a whole lot easier.

4. The cost is $30 per person plus cart fee for either 18 or 9 holes. The $30 includes a yummy box lunch, tee prizes, great post play snacks, tournament awards and closest to the pin awards for both 9 and 18 hole flights. The entire entrance fee is used to support this event, plus some SLGA subsidizing form our yearly dues.

5. Please, Please, Please sign up on line. Each player has to sign up individually, but you can put other members of you team in the comments box. You can sign up as a 4some, 3some, 2some, or as a single. Stuart will make up teams for all who are not in a 4some. If you do not know your username or password for the club website, call Tammy and she can walk you through the sign on procedure.

6. If we have 48 players, the club will provide a beverage cart for that day. This is definitely a big incentive. Do not let your friends down. Sign up today.

7. WEAR SOMETHING PINK - shirt, or jacket, or pants, or hat, or scarf. There are a couple of pink wigs floating around the membership. I am sure we will see them this year, too.

8. The deadline for sign up is April 23. We need to have a final count for food and prizes.
